A Founder’s Letter: Vision, Stewardship, and the Decade Ahead

Orthogonal was built on a simple belief: the future belongs to those who can see the full system before the world names it.

We are entering a new era. Not merely a software cycle. Not merely a capital markets cycle. A civilizational cycle.

The next decade will be defined by the convergence of

  • energy,
  • computation,
  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • biology,
  • digital assets,
  • and capital.

These are not isolated themes. They are interconnected layers of a new operating system for the world.

Orthogonal exists to build, own, and steward within that system.

Our ambition is to become a global holding company of consequence: disciplined in capital allocation, patient in execution, and expansive in vision. We are building with the long horizon in mind. We believe enduring institutions are not created through noise or fashion, but through

  • conviction,
  • structure,
  • governance,
  • and compounding.

This is not a project built for a quarter.
It is being built for a generation.

We believe intelligence is becoming the central force of the global economy

The world is reorganizing around intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a niche technology. It is becoming infrastructure. It will shape

  • how companies are built,
  • how decisions are made,
  • how medicine evolves,
  • how capital is allocated,
  • and how nations compete.

Intelligence, both human and machine, is becoming the primary multiplier of civilization.

That is why the current buildout matters so much.

The Infrastructure of the Intelligence Economy

Across the world, capital is pouring into

  • data centers,
  • semiconductors,
  • energy systems,
  • compute infrastructure,
  • and AI-native platforms.

What some still see as a trend, we see as a structural transition. The industrial base of the future is being laid now.

We agree with the essential insight that the decade ahead will be shaped by infrastructure for intelligence. Energy will matter more. Compute will matter more. Security will matter more. Coordination will matter more. The institutions that understand this early will be positioned to help shape the next era.

Orthogonal intends to be one of them.

Energy is everything

Every layer of modern civilization rests on energy.

The intelligence economy will not be powered by ideas alone. It will be powered by

  • electricity,
  • transmission,
  • cooling,
  • hardware,
  • land,
  • logistics,
  • and resilient physical systems.

Every breakthrough in AI, every leap in computation, every acceleration in digital infrastructure ultimately runs through power.

Energy is not adjacent to the future. Energy is the foundation of the future.

That is why we believe the next decade will reward those who understand the relationship between energy, compute, and capital. The world is moving toward a reality in which electricity becomes the fuel of intelligence at scale.

Orthogonal views this clearly.

We believe capital should be stewarded, not merely deployed

There is a difference between activity and stewardship.

Our model is not based on chasing headlines. It is based on

  • long-term ownership,
  • thoughtful capital allocation,
  • institutional structure,
  • and disciplined patience.

We admire businesses that compound. We respect governance. We believe credibility is earned through execution.

As Orthogonal evolves, our priorities are practical and foundational:

  • strong audits,
  • rigorous structure,
  • access to public markets,
  • and a capital framework built to create enduring value over time.

We believe dividends matter.
We believe trust matters.
We believe transparency and discipline matter.

A great holding company does not merely collect assets. It allocates with judgment, protects downside, compounds intelligently, and aligns with the future before it is obvious.

That is the standard we are building toward.

Public markets are a core arena for our future

We believe public markets remain one of the most powerful coordination systems ever created.

They provide liquidity, visibility, accountability, and the capacity to scale ideas into institutions. Orthogonal’s future is deeply connected to this arena.

We are building for durability, not novelty. We are building for participation in public markets with seriousness and intention.

Our aim is not to be seen as a collection of disconnected ventures. Our aim is to become a coherent and trusted platform that can hold, support, and grow valuable businesses and assets over time.

That requires patience. It requires credibility. It requires a standard of execution worthy of long-duration shareholders.

We believe health is wealth, and longevity is infrastructure

The future is not only about smarter machines. It is also about stronger humans.

A civilization that extends intelligence but neglects health is building on a broken foundation. Human vitality, resilience, clarity, and longevity are not side interests. They are central to flourishing. Health is the basis of agency. Longevity is the extension of human potential. Wellness is not a luxury category; it is part of the architecture of abundance.

This is why Orthogonal is drawn to businesses and systems that support human well-being. We believe the future will increasingly reward platforms that improve health, extend healthy lifespan, and help individuals live with more strength, clarity, and purpose.

Technology should not distance us from life. It should deepen life.

We believe nature and innovation belong together

I come from Hawai‘i. That matters.

To grow up close to nature is to understand something many modern systems forget: abundance is not created by force alone. It is created through alignment. Nature compounds. Nature adapts. Nature wastes nothing. Nature teaches proportion, patience, resilience, and power.

Orthogonal does not view technology and nature as opposing ideas. We believe the strongest future is one in which innovation, health, natural systems, and human consciousness evolve together. The goal is not cold acceleration for its own sake. The goal is a better civilization.

A civilization with more energy, more intelligence, more health, more beauty, and more freedom.

A civilization that remembers the point of progress is life itself.

We believe digital assets and new coordination systems matter

The next generation of global infrastructure will require new forms of coordination.

Digital assets, tokenized systems, and decentralized networks are not merely speculative instruments. At their best, they are new rails for ownership, incentives, settlement, and participation. Like all powerful tools, they must be approached with discernment. But dismissing them entirely misses the deeper shift.

The world is moving toward more programmable, more global, and more digitally native systems of value transfer and coordination.

Orthogonal intends to understand these systems, participate where conviction is earned, and help connect them to real businesses, real infrastructure, and real value creation.

We build with people who expand possibility

Institutions are built by people before they are built by models.

We care deeply about who we build with. Character matters. Energy matters. Integrity matters. We believe empowering people create empowering systems. We believe culture compounds. We believe relationships shape outcomes. We believe great businesses are built by aligned people with conviction, discipline, and courage.

Our work is long-term. That requires the right partners, the right shareholders, the right operators, and the right environment.

We are not interested in cynicism as a strategy.
We are interested in builders.

We believe in abundance

At the deepest level, Orthogonal is built on a belief in abundance.

Not naive abundance. Earned abundance.

An abundance created through

  • better energy systems,
  • better health,
  • better infrastructure,
  • better coordination,
  • better technology,
  • and better stewardship.

We reject the idea that the future must be organized around permanent scarcity, fragmentation, and decline. We believe human beings can build systems that are more intelligent, more prosperous, more regenerative, and more aligned with life.

Utopia is not built through slogans.
It is built through institutions.
It is built through capital that knows what it serves.
It is built through technology that knows what it is for.
It is built through people who refuse to think small.

What Orthogonal is becoming

Orthogonal is becoming a platform for ownership and stewardship in the age of intelligence.

  • A global holding company.
  • A public-markets-minded institution.
  • A long-horizon allocator.
  • A builder across energy, AI, digital infrastructure, health, longevity, and next-generation systems.
  • A company grounded in governance, but animated by vision.
  • A business built to compound value while participating in the deeper transformation of civilization.

That is our direction.

We are still building. We are still refining. We are still laying foundations that others may only fully appreciate in hindsight. But our conviction is clear.

The decade ahead will reward those who can hold multiple truths at once:

  • that energy is physical and strategic,
  • that intelligence is becoming infrastructure,
  • that capital must be disciplined,
  • that health is foundational,
  • that nature matters,
  • that abundance is possible,
  • and that the future can be built with both strength and soul.

This is the work of Orthogonal.

And we are just getting started.
